Gohon-de is a pottery technique where the clay changes color to a pale pink or orange during firing, and it has been popular for centuries. The plate features a wavy rim, and both cherry blossoms and maple leaves are depicted on a single plate. The design is entirely hand-painted. It would be lovely to use it as a dessert plate for strawberries during cherry blossom season. It would also be nice to use it for comforting dishes during the autumn foliage season.
